Skin Booster Dermashine PRO REJURAN®

VAMI (Vacuum-Assisted Manual Injection) Q&A

VAMI stands for Vacuum-Assisted Manual Injection. It is a method in which a multi-needle injector such as Dermashine PRO uses vacuum to hold the skin steady while the dermatologist manually injects the medication by hand.

What Is Vacuum-Assisted Manual Injection (VAMI)?

VAMI stands for Vacuum-Assisted Manual Injection. It is a method in which a multi-needle injector such as Dermashine PRO uses vacuum to hold the skin steady while the dermatologist manually injects the medication by hand.

Unlike the conventional method where the machine automatically injects a preset amount at a fixed pressure, VAMI is characterized by the dermatologist being able to directly adjust the injection volume and pressure according to the skin thickness, tissue resistance, and treatment area.

That is, it can be described as an injection method that combines the machine's vacuum with the precise control of manual injection.

How Is VAMI Different from Standard Dermashine PRO Automatic Injection?

In a conventional Dermashine PRO procedure, after holding the skin with suction, the machine automatically injects a set amount of medication.

VAMI also uses the vacuum of Dermashine PRO, but the process of pushing the medication in is performed manually by the dermatologist rather than by automatic injection.

This allows for fine control of the injection pressure and amount depending on thin and thick skin areas, as well as areas with high and low tissue resistance.

In particular, it aims to reduce backflow and loss of medication that can occur during Skin Booster procedures, and to inject small amounts densely at the desired depth.

Why Does VAMI Inject Shallowly, in Small Amounts, and Densely?

One of the key concepts of VAMI is Small · Superficial · Spaced Closely, that is, dispersing small amounts in shallow layers densely rather than injecting a large amount at one point.

Reducing the injection volume per point can minimize bumps that rise significantly on the skin surface while delivering the medication evenly over a wide area.

Especially for ECM-based Skin Boosters like Re2O, dispersing the material in small units over a wide area rather than injecting it as one large mass can theoretically increase the contact area between the injected material and the surrounding tissue.

However, this does not mean that all products must be injected at the same depth and volume. The depth and injection volume of VAMI should also vary according to the characteristics of the product and the treatment goal.

Does VAMI Cause Less Bumpiness and Pain?

Because VAMI allows for very small injection volumes per point, it can help reduce noticeable bumps compared to conventional manual injection methods.

Additionally, since the skin is held steadily with suction, multiple fine needles are used, and injection pressure is directly adjusted according to tissue resistance, it can also help reduce pain.

However, bumping is not determined solely by the injection method.

It varies depending on Volume, Depth, Tissue, and Product. Therefore, the goal of VAMI is not simply a 'procedure without bumps,' but to precisely control these four factors according to each product and skin type.

Which Skin Boosters Can Be Used with VAMI?

VAMI is not a dedicated injection method for a specific product, but rather an injection technique for delivering Skin Boosters precisely.

It can be used with various injectables including Re2O and REJURAN®, but because each product has different viscosity, spreading properties, target skin layer, and treatment goals, they are not injected in the same way.

Therefore, the core of VAMI is not simply using Dermashine PRO, but rather:

The vacuum holds the skin steady → the appropriate depth is selected for the product and tissue → the injection volume per point is adjusted → the dermatologist directly controls the injection pressure.

Ultimately, VAMI can be described as an injection method that combines the convenience of automatic injection with the delicate control of manual injection, aiming to deliver medication more precisely to the desired location.
