Before a Wedding or Important Event: When Should You Get Which Treatment?

It is safest to start with lifting treatments 3–6 months before the wedding and to complete any new procedures at least 2 weeks before the event.

Should I Start Skincare Several Months Before the Wedding?

Ideally, it is advisable to start planning your skin care 6 months before the wedding, and at least 3 months before. This is because collagen lifting treatments such as Thermage® FLX and Ultherapy PRIME® show more noticeable results 2–3 months after the procedure, once collagen has been remodeled, rather than immediately after. Therefore, to have the results peak around the main event, you need to start early, working backward from the date.

Treatments for pigmentation issues like melasma and freckles, or acne scars, also require multiple sessions and a period of 3–6 months. In particular, if you are trying a procedure for the first time, we recommend starting with more time to spare, allowing for observation of your skin's reaction and any necessary adjustments.

Even if the preparation period is short, there are still options. Depending on the remaining time, the plan can be adjusted to focus on Skin Boosters and hydration treatments with short downtime. Therefore, we recommend first consulting to identify the available options at your current stage.

Which Treatments Should Be Avoided Right Before the Event?

As a rule, within 2 weeks of the event, you should avoid ablative lasers, strong peels, and any injection treatments you are trying for the first time. This is because procedures that peel the epidermis require time for redness and flaking to resolve, and with a first-time treatment, it is difficult to predict how your skin will react, posing a greater risk when there is no time for adjustments.

Botulinum toxin is also known to take about 2 weeks for the full effect to settle, and in rare cases where asymmetry occurs, time is needed for correction, so treatment right before the event is not recommended. Dermal fillers also require time for swelling and bruising to subside and for the product to settle naturally into the tissue.

In the 1–2 weeks leading up to the event, a safe strategy is to boost your skin's condition with hydration management like Hydro Lifting or non-invasive muscle-stimulating programs such as EVE Synergy, rather than new procedures.

How Should I Time Treatments for the Photo Shoot and the Main Ceremony?

The basic principle is to work backward from the main event date, arranging treatments in the order of "structural improvements early, surface management close to the date." Since rehearsal shoots often take place several months before the main event, planning with the shoot date as the first target allows you to achieve good condition for both occasions.

Timing (relative to main event)Recommended TreatmentsReason
6–3 months beforeLifting (Thermage® FLX, Ultherapy PRIME®), start pigmentation/scar treatmentTime needed for collagen remodeling and cumulative sessions
3–2 months beforeSkin Booster (REJURAN®, SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM®), dermal fillerAllow time for swelling to subside and product to settle
1 month–2 weeks beforeFinalize toxin, light toning and glow management2 weeks for effect onset + adjustment buffer
2 weeks–day of eventHydration and soothing management (Hydro Lifting, EVE Synergy)Condition management with no downtime

This table provides general guidelines; intervals may vary depending on the type of treatment and individual recovery speed. If you bring your full schedule to the consultation, we can design a customized timeline that considers the photo shoot, main event, and honeymoon.

By When Should I Finish Injectable Treatments That Carry a Risk of Swelling or Bruising?

For injection treatments such as dermal fillers and Skin Boosters that carry a risk of swelling or bruising, we recommend completing them at least 4 weeks before the event, and ideally 6 weeks before. This is because bruising at the injection site usually fades within a few days to ten days, but individual variation exists, and fillers also need time for the swelling to subside and the shape to settle.

Pre-treatment care also helps reduce bruising. You should not stop taking any medication without consulting your doctor, but you must inform your Dermatologist about any ingredients that may affect blood clotting, such as aspirin, omega-3, and vitamin E, before the procedure.

If the event is within 4 weeks, it is safer to switch direction: instead of getting fillers in new areas, opt for a small touch-up of a treatment you have already had, or a non-injection management procedure.

How Do I Prioritize When the Budget Is Limited?

Priorities may vary depending on your individual skin condition and facial contours. When the budget is limited, prioritizing the elements most visible in photos and under lighting—namely skin tone and texture—generally leads to higher satisfaction. This is because wedding shoots and the main event take place under strong lighting, where uniform skin tone, smooth texture, and hydration have a greater visual impact than subtle changes in contour. However, if there are specific areas of the contour you clearly wish to improve, such as hollow cheeks, we guide you to treat that area first.

The next priority is the one concern that bothers you most when you look in the mirror. If sagging is your biggest concern, focus on a single lifting treatment; if spots are your concern, focus on pigmentation treatment. Narrowing down to one area in this way tends to produce a more noticeable change than spreading multiple treatments thinly.

Costs vary depending on the area, scope, and number of sessions. During the consultation, please tell us the remaining time and your top concerns, and we will work out an efficient sequence within those conditions. Choosing a plan that fits your time and circumstances, rather than an overly ambitious one, ultimately leads to the most favorable results.
