Lifting Soprano Titanium Ultherapy PRIME®

Soprano Titanium and HIFU Lifting, What's the Difference?

Soprano Titanium uses a 3-wavelength laser to gently heat multiple layers, while HIFU Lifting is a deep lifting that focuses on pulling the SMAS layer.

What does it mean that Soprano Titanium uses multiple wavelengths?

It means that Soprano Titanium simultaneously delivers three wavelengths of laser—755 nm, 810 nm, and 1064 nm—from a single handpiece. The depth of penetration and the target that responds well vary by wavelength: 755 nm acts on pigment and tone in the layer near the epidermis, 810 nm stimulates collagen in the mid-dermis, and 1064 nm reaches the deepest layers to heat deep tissue.

In other words, "multiple wavelengths" means that a single treatment simultaneously addresses multiple depths from the superficial to the deep layers of the skin. In contrast, HIFU Lifting (Ultherapy PRIME®) uses ultrasound energy focused in a point pattern at fixed depths of 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm, and differs in that it specifically targets the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer at 4.5 mm.

Is Soprano Titanium generally less painful than ultrasound?

Yes, Soprano Titanium is generally less painful. Instead of concentrating strong energy at a single point, it gradually accumulates low-intensity energy through rapid repeated pulses, and the handpiece's sapphire cooling lowers the skin surface temperature, so it often feels like a warm massage.

HIFU Lifting creates thermal coagulation points at about 65–70 °C in the SMAS layer, so you may feel a momentary deep ache or a sharp pain. Of course, this can be sufficiently managed with topical anesthetic and energy adjustment, and the presence of pain also indicates that energy is being delivered to the deep layers. For those sensitive to pain, cooling and energy adjustment can reduce discomfort.

Which one gives faster immediate results?

In terms of immediate post-treatment sensation, Soprano Titanium tends to be faster. With Soprano Titanium, the entire dermis is evenly heated, causing collagen to temporarily contract, so many people feel their skin is firmer and brighter right after the procedure, and there is little swelling or redness, allowing a quick return to daily life.

HIFU Lifting also produces some immediate tissue contraction from the thermal coagulation points, but the full lifting effect is known to develop gradually over 2 to 6 months as new collagen forms around the coagulation points. In summary, the "immediate bright firmness" is more characteristic of Soprano Titanium, while the "deep tightening that emerges over time" is more characteristic of HIFU, and this is not a matter of superiority but a difference in mechanism of action.

Which is more convenient for maintenance treatments?

For maintenance purposes where you want to receive treatments frequently without burden, Soprano Titanium is a convenient choice. In clinical practice, many people who visit regularly to manage their skin condition choose Soprano Titanium. With little pain and downtime, it hardly interferes with daily life, and it is typically repeated in multiple sessions at intervals of several weeks to maintain condition, making it easy to incorporate into a regular care routine.

HIFU Lifting, on the other hand, has a higher intensity per session but a longer interval between sessions, typically received at intervals of about one year. In other words, the character is divided: "frequent and light" for Soprano Titanium, "occasional and substantial" for HIFU, and you can choose based on your visit frequency and management preference.

Can the two be combined?

Yes, in practice, a combination approach is often used. HIFU (Ultherapy PRIME®) lifts the SMAS layer, which is the foundation of sagging, while Soprano Titanium periodically manages the texture, tone, and residual elasticity of the dermis and surface layers. This covers both deep and superficial layers, making them complementary. For example, you might have HIFU Lifting once a year as the main treatment and use Soprano Titanium for maintenance in between.

However, since both treatments use heat, it is advisable to allow sufficient intervals between sessions on the same area rather than receiving them consecutively, taking skin recovery into account. Whether to combine them and the intervals depend on skin thickness, fat volume, and degree of sagging, so we recommend consulting a board-certified dermatologist to design an annual lifting plan tailored to your skin.
