Analysis of seasonal variations in allergic diseases using National Health Insurance data Selected as the most-cited paper of 2020–2021 in an international journal
A study co-authored by Professor Young Chan Lee’s team at Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong and Jung Min Bae, the director of Heal House, was selected as the most-cited paper of 2020–2021 in the authoritative international journal Immunity, Inflammation and Disease. This result is especially meaningful because scholars around the world have cited the study’s data and insights as a basis for their own papers.
This study was the first to demonstrate how the four major allergic diseases—including atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis—vary with temperature, humidity, and diurnal temperature range, using National Health Insurance data covering the entire population of South Korea. Furthermore, by viewing patients’ symptoms not in isolation but through a macroscopic lens that accounts for the effects of climate and environment, it served as an opportunity for Heal House’s in-depth research capabilities to receive international recognition once again.
