Laser Mirajet, Curejet, Skinjet REJURAN®

Can people who are sensitive to pain receive Mirajet?

Mirajet is a treatment that uses a needle-free Er:YAG laser to create instantaneous pressure, delivering medication in the form of a microjet, which significantly reduces the burden of pain and bruising.

Is it less painful because there is no needle?

Yes, Mirajet is a needle-free method that does not use an injection needle at all, so needle pain is fundamentally absent. Mirajet is a laser-jet drug injection device that uses the instantaneous pressure created by an Er:YAG laser to deliver medication into the skin in the form of an extremely fine, invisible microjet.

The pain from a typical injection mostly comes from the needle piercing the skin and stimulating pain nerves. Mirajet eliminates this step entirely, so the sensation is often described as a light tapping feeling. It delivers tiny nanoliter volumes at high speed, so the stimulus at each spot is small. This can be a good option for people with needle phobia, those who are especially sensitive to pain, or those who have tried injection treatments before but stopped because of discomfort.

Does Mirajet have a low risk of bruising or needle marks?

Yes, because there is no process of a needle directly piercing blood vessels, the risk of bruising and needle marks (puncture holes) is relatively lower. Bruising after an injection procedure occurs when the needle damages capillaries in the dermis. Since Mirajet pushes the medication in using an ultra-fine jet stream, the extent of vascular damage is generally small.

Of course, even with a needle-free method, it cannot be stated that bruising will not occur at all. Depending on skin condition and the treatment area, temporary redness or fine marks may appear, and individual results vary. However, noticeable needle marks are rare, making it known as a less burdensome option for office workers who need to return to daily life immediately after treatment or for individuals whose bruising tends to last a long time.

Is numbing cream enough for Mirajet?

In most cases, applying anesthetic cream 10 minutes before the procedure is sufficient, and in some cases, the procedure is possible without any anesthesia. In needle injection procedures, a significant portion of the pain that remains even after applying anesthetic cream comes from the physical stimulation of the needle penetrating the skin. Since Mirajet lacks this step, its reliance on anesthesia is lower.

CategoryGeneral needle injectionMirajet (needle-free laser jet)
Injection methodNeedle penetrates skinLaser pressure microjet injection
PainLarge individual variation due to needle stimulationRelatively mild, like a tapping sensation
Bruising and needle marksCan occur if blood vessels are damagedRelatively lower risk
AnesthesiaAnesthetic cream often neededAnesthetic cream is generally sufficient

However, the sensation of pain varies greatly between individuals and can differ depending on the treatment area, type of medication, and injection depth. If you are very sensitive to pain, it is advisable to discuss the anesthesia method in advance during your consultation.

If it hurts less, is the effect still good?

Yes, Mirajet is a device designed to precisely deliver medication to the target depth while reducing pain. Because it uses laser pressure to uniformly inject nanoliter-sized amounts of medication at a rate of several dozen times per second, it has the advantage of distributing the medication evenly without pooling in one area or leaving gaps, compared to manual injection.

Additionally, as the jet stream enters the skin, it is described as creating micro-stimulation in the target skin layer, simultaneously inducing a skin regeneration response. In other words, the structure allows for drug delivery and micro-stimulation to occur at the same time, so less pain does not mean reduced effectiveness. It is highly useful for those who wish to comfortably receive Skin Boosters such as REJURAN® or JUVELOOK, and the degree of effect varies individually depending on skin condition.

Which areas can be treated with Mirajet?

It can be applied to the entire face, as well as areas where injection pain is severe due to thin and sensitive skin, such as around the eyes and mouth, and various other areas including the neck and scalp. The advantages of the needle-free method are particularly evident in areas where needle injections are especially painful, such as the under-eye area and around the mouth; areas that need dense coverage over a wide surface, like the cheeks and forehead; and along the scalp line, where needle access is cumbersome.

The injection depth and amount can be controlled by the device, allowing for treatment tailored to the skin thickness of each area. However, the suitable areas and programs vary depending on the concerns you wish to address and the medication used, so we recommend consulting with a dermatologist to determine the appropriate treatment scope for your skin.
