Other The L Ultherapy PRIME®

Is The L the same as contour injection?

The L is a simple injection procedure that reduces the enlarged facial contour to create a slender impression. In clinical studies, a reduction of approximately 4.7% in facial area and 4.3% in left-right width has been reported, and changes usually appear from 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure and become most noticeable around 3 months.

Is The L the same as contour injection?

It is different from general 'contour injections'. 'Contour injection' is not the name of a specific product, but a conventional term that collectively refers to injection procedures aimed at reducing localized facial fat. Therefore, the composition and concentration of the medication, the amount injected at one time, the depth of injection, and the treatment interval vary by clinic. This is also why there are various names such as 'piece injection' and 'slim injection'.

The L is Heal House's signature procedure that reduces the outer contour of the face to make the face smaller and trims protruding areas to refine the facial line. Additionally, in the long term, through rebalancing of facial tissues, it can reduce areas with excessive volume and revive the flattened mid-face.

What type of face is this treatment suitable for?

Since it is a procedure that can reduce the larger parts of the face, it is effective for faces where the outer part of the face is developed, especially when the muscles on the outer side bulge out when the mouth is tightly closed. Also, for faces that give a strong impression rather than a refined image due to development of the lower jaw or temporal area, the procedure can trim unnecessary volume to complete a softer and more elegant impression.

Which areas of the face can it be used on? Can it be used on the cheekbones or a square jaw?

It is used on areas with fullness such as the jawline, a wide lower face (square jaw), a wide-looking temple line, the hairline edge, and generally on areas where the outer margin of the face is broad, making the contour look blunt or unbalanced.

However, because muscle size, fat layer thickness, skin elasticity, and connections with surrounding structures vary from person to person and from area to area, the same dose is not used everywhere. In particular, areas like the side cheek where fat is thin and prone to hollowing require careful judgment; over-treating such areas can actually create a hollow or sagging appearance.

Therefore, it is safer to decide which areas to treat and how much after directly assessing the face shape and fat distribution.

Also, for those whose fundamental issue is a large bone structure or sagging/hollow skin, the effect may be limited, and other procedures such as lifting, dermal filler to add volume, or Sculptra may be needed.

How many sessions are needed, and how long do the results last?

It is not a one-time procedure. If you try to make a big change in one session, unwanted effects such as hollow cheeks, skin sagging, or a longer-looking face may occur, so it is important to understand the face shape and create gradual changes.

Usually, 3 sessions are performed at 1-month intervals to gently refine the facial line, and after that, the treatment interval is 4 months.

What is the downtime and pain level like?

The L is a procedure with short downtime. After the procedure, bumpy areas may be visible at the injection sites, but they usually subside within a few hours, so by the next day, the bumps are not noticeable. Since it is an injection procedure, bruising may occur, and even if bruising occurs, it usually resolves within about 1 week. Other symptoms that may be felt are rare, such as slight stiffness or minor discomfort in the treated area, but these also resolve within about 1 week.

Could I be someone who is not suitable? Who should avoid this treatment?

As a rule, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who have inflammation, wounds, or skin diseases in the treatment area should postpone the procedure. If you have a blood clotting disorder or are taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs, the risk of bruising and bleeding increases, so you must inform us in advance during the consultation.

The area under the chin and the neck contain salivary glands, lymph nodes, and nerves. If you have a history of surgery on the neck or chin area, symptoms of difficulty swallowing, thyroid disease, or unexplained lumps in the neck, it is safer to first identify the cause before the procedure.

It is also not an appropriate choice if you are in a period of significant weight fluctuation or if you are considering overall body weight loss.

How is it different from a lifting procedure? Can they be done together?

The purposes are different. The L is a procedure that makes the face smaller and finely refines the line, while HIFU Lifting such as Ultherapy PRIME® or SHURINK UNIVERSE is a procedure that lifts sagging tissues. The priority depends on whether the issue is volume or sagging.

In actual practice, the two often coexist. In such cases, the approach may be to perform The L first and then tidy up the remaining sagging skin with lifting, or conversely, if sagging is the main cause, lifting may be considered first.

Whether to combine them, the order, and the interval must consider recovery status and downtime together. It is safer to adjust while monitoring progress, and we recommend that you decide which combination is right for you through a consultation.
