Lecture by Dr. Jung Min Bae at the Gyeonggi Branch Academic Conference
At the Gyeonggi Branch academic conference, Dr. Jung Min Bae of Heal House gave a lecture on his clinical experience with vitiligo. He introduced the diagnosis and treatment process, as well as cases where the treatment plan was adjusted according to each patient's lesion status and treatment response. An invited lecture on communication in the clinic was also prepared.

Dr. Jung Min Bae, who has served as the general secretary of the Gyeonggi Branch, a gathering of dermatologists in the southern Gyeonggi region, took the stage as a lecturer at the academic conference marking the end of his term to share his clinical experience with vitiligo.
In the lecture, the diagnosis and treatment process of vitiligo, as well as aspects to consider in actual clinical practice, were introduced along with case examples. The presenter also shared with fellow medical staff how to adjust the treatment plan according to the extent and progression of lesions and the treatment response, which vary from patient to patient.
This academic conference also prepared an additional lecture. It invited Ms. Hyunsook Na, director of the Meditop Service Research Institute, to speak on the topic of communication in the clinic. Since this is a topic not commonly covered at academic conferences, it was a new experience for the physicians in attendance.
Providing sufficient explanation is different from conveying a lot of information at once. Rather than deciding what more to say, listening first to what the patient is most worried about ultimately leads to better communication. It was an opportunity to reaffirm that accurate treatment and comfortable communication are not separate matters.
