Sharing Know-How on Treating Pigmentary Disorders in Older Men with Photoaging
At the 25th Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Association of Dermatologists, Director Jongsic Kim attended as a speaker and shared his experience treating pigmentary disorders in male patients in their 50s and 60s with relatively advanced photoaging with fellow dermatologists.
The skin of older adults, which has been exposed to UV rays for a long time and has become thickened and damaged, requires different and more detailed criteria than the general approach to pigment treatment. In this presentation, discussions were held on practical treatment directions for objectively adjusting the energy of laser devices by considering various factors such as age, sex, and cumulative skin damage.
In this lecture, the method of adjusting the type and energy of the laser by considering the patient's age, skin thickness, and the depth and extent of pigmentation was explained, focusing on actual cases. Also shared were considerations when adjusting the treatment interval and intensity while monitoring treatment response.
The process of examining skin conditions in a detailed manner helps reduce unnecessary stimulation and determine a more appropriate treatment direction for each patient. Heal House will continue to share clinical experience accumulated across various skin types and age groups, and provide careful medical care tailored to each patient's different skin condition.
