Not every white patch on the skin is the same condition. At the recent Korean Association of Dermatologists Fall Academic Conference, Director Jung Min Bae spoke as an invited lecturer on objective differential diagnosis methods for several hypopigmented conditions that are often mistaken for vitiligo in clinical practice, such as pityriasis alba, nevus depigmentosus, and nevus anemicus.

If the cause of a disease is different, the appropriate treatment direction should also be set differently. This is because a clear differential diagnosis at an early stage is the most important foundation for patients to avoid unnecessary medical procedures and establish a suitable treatment plan.

Even if they look similar on the surface, if the cause and outcome of the disease are different, the necessary treatment also differs. An accurate early diagnosis reduces unnecessary treatment and serves as a starting point for establishing a suitable plan for the patient. Heal House will carefully examine even small skin changes and guide each patient toward the necessary treatment direction based on sufficient evidence.
