Sharing Clinical Experience on a New Classification of Facial Vitiligo and Micro-Punch Grafting
Director Jung Min Bae attended the vitiligo forum held in Oman and shared the latest treatment experiences with experts from around the world. It was an event that brought together vitiligo patients from Oman and local Dermatologists, offering a broad discussion of current treatment outcomes and future challenges.
Director Bae gave a lecture on a new classification of facial vitiligo and the causes of each subtype. The content was that even though facial vitiligo may appear similar on the surface, treatment response and long-term course vary depending on the location, shape, and progression pattern of the lesions, so it is important to classify the types in detail and establish a plan accordingly.
He also introduced lifestyle habits that patients should be careful about in daily life. He mentioned that treatment is not only carried out within the hospital but should extend to managing the skin to avoid repeated irritation and examining lifestyle factors that may affect the treatment process.
At the subsequent vitiligo surgical workshop, Heal House directly demonstrated the micro-punch grafting technique that it has been consistently performing to Middle Eastern Dermatologists. The presentation covered in detail the criteria for selecting surgical candidates according to the patient's condition, the process of harvesting and transplanting skin tissue, and the factors to consider when monitoring progress afterward. Since surgery becomes another option when sufficient response is difficult to achieve with light therapy or lasers alone, this was an opportunity to share accumulated experience with international Dermatologists and broaden the scope of treatment together.
Advances in medicine do not end with researching new treatments. A process is needed to validate the experiences gained in the clinic, share them with other Dermatologists, and create standards that can be applied to more patients. Heal House will continue its international academic activities to learn from and exchange with vitiligo experts around the world and deliver better treatment methods to our patients.
