Skin Booster JUVGEN

What concerns is JUVGEN suitable for?

JUVGEN is primarily used to fill static wrinkles that remain even without making expressions, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and fixed wrinkles on the forehead and glabella, as well as depressed areas like acne scars. Its effect on dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expression muscles is limited, so botulinum toxin type A may be used together.

Is JUVGEN effective for all wrinkles and scars?

JUVGEN is a treatment that shows excellent results for deep wrinkles or depressed scars caused by collagen loss and thinning of the dermis. It not only fills the indented area with a small amount of external material but also stimulates the production of new autologous collagen in that area. As the tissue itself regenerates, the depressed area gradually improves, and the duration of results is therefore longer.

However, the degree of response varies depending on the type, depth, and time of formation of wrinkles and scars, so it is accurate for a Dermatologist to determine whether JUVGEN treatment is suitable after examining your condition.

Which wrinkles is JUVGEN particularly effective for?

It is particularly effective for "fixed wrinkles" that remain even when the face is at rest, rather than expression wrinkles on the glabella, forehead, or around the eyes that appear when making facial expressions.

In other words, it is suitable for improving nasolabial folds, marionette lines, forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, crow's feet, and vertical lip lines. However, for dynamic wrinkles caused by the movement of facial expression muscles, the duration of JUVGEN results may be relatively shorter. This is because wrinkles caused by muscle contraction itself, such as forehead wrinkles or frowning, are difficult to address fundamentally with collagen regeneration alone. In such cases, JUVGEN treatment should be combined with botulinum toxin type A treatment to reduce muscle contraction, and regular botulinum toxin type A treatments after JUVGEN are necessary to prevent recurrence.

How effective is it for nasolabial folds and marionette lines?

It is very effective for nasolabial folds and marionette lines, but depending on the cause of the wrinkles, JUVGEN may not be suitable.

Nasolabial folds and marionette lines are caused by a combination of factors including skin sagging, fat migration, and collagen loss. Among these, for narrow, deep wrinkles caused by thinning skin and loss of elasticity, JUVGEN, which induces autologous collagen, shows excellent results.

However, for deep nasolabial folds with significant volume loss that require immediate filling, a volume approach such as dermal filler, RADIESSE®, or Sculptra may be more suitable. If sagging is the main cause, lifting procedures such as Thread Lifting or Ultherapy PRIME® should be performed together.

What types of scars can JUVGEN improve?

JUVGEN is used to gradually flatten the surface by inducing collagen to fill depressed areas, such as acne scars. This is because the cross-stimulation of CO₂ and hyaluronic acid induces a regenerative response in the dermis beneath the scar, and the newly generated collagen fills the depressed tissue, reducing the depth of the scar.

Scars do not disappear completely with a single treatment; improvement is often observed gradually over 3 sessions at 4-6 week intervals. Depending on the nature of the scar, it may be better to combine it with other treatments such as laser, so it is advisable to establish an individualized plan step by step after assessing the scar condition.

Who is a good candidate for JUVGEN treatment?

JUVGEN is well suited for those who prefer natural regeneration rather than volume filling and wish to improve wrinkles and depressions caused by collagen loss. It is particularly considered for individuals who found the foreign body sensation or overfilling of dermal fillers burdensome and prefer a more natural improvement.

Conversely, if immediate large-volume filling is needed or if dynamic wrinkles primarily caused by facial expression muscles are the main concern, a different approach may be more suitable. The most accurate way to determine whether your skin concern is a "type that needs regeneration" or a "type that needs filling or another approach" is through a consultation with a specialist.
