REVINAS DCT delivers electromagnetic extracorporeal shock waves to the skin through a handpiece. The shock wave is acoustic energy with instantaneous pressure fluctuations that passes through the epidermis and reaches the dermis and the fascial layer beneath. This pressure change acts as a mechanical stimulus, activating fibroblasts and increasing local blood flow and lymphatic flow, which helps loosen tight connective tissue and reduce swelling. Because it does not coagulate tissue with heat, it places less burden on the skin in terms of burns.
The most common reactions after REVINAS DCT treatment are temporary redness and a tingling sensation. Since the procedure does not use heat, these usually subside within a short time, but the degree of reaction varies by individual.
Common Symptoms
Temporary redness, tingling, a tapping sensation during the procedure, mild swelling
Rare Symptoms
Petechiae, bruising, temporary sensory changes, headache, tenderness in the treatment area
