LSSA inserts a relatively thin ultrasound probe under the skin to deliver ultrasound energy to the fat layer. This energy is designed to selectively liquefy fat tissue while relatively less stimulating nerves and connective tissue. The liquefied fat is naturally expelled or suctioned out with a thin cannula. It reduces localized fat without incisions to refine contours.
The most common reactions after LSSA treatment are swelling and bruising. They usually last about 1 week and then subside.
A small regenerative tape is applied to the area where the ultrasound probe entered and is removed after 1 week.
